The Missing Bean is a laid-back espresso bar serving Italian fresh roast coffee, sweet pastries and ciabatta sandwiches. The large windows in the shop look out onto picturesque and bustling Turl Street, a quintessential Oxford thoroughfare, making it a perfect spot to take time out for a coffee and watch the world go by. An independently owned and run espresso bar, the cafe was set up to bring the artisan Antipodean style coffee and laid back atmosphere to the heart of Oxford. Founded in Autumn 2009 by Ori and Vicky, who had just returned from Sydney, the Missing Bean quickly established a reputation for great coffee in a relaxed and friendly environment. Its proprietors have always believed in making sure they serve the best coffee possible, from the right beans through to the roasting process and finally at the extraction. In 2014, the company set up a micro coffee roastery just down the road in East Oxford, where they roast their beans on a weekly basis. The cafe is open Monday to Friday from 8am - 6:30pm, Saturday 9am - 6:30pm and Sunday 10am - 5:30pm. Other than coffee, The Missing Bean serves a wide range of loose leaf teas, as well as iced coffees including affogato, iced chocolate and iced chai, hot chocolate and Italian cioccolata, chai, juices, smoothies and frappes. Alongside the drinks, you’ll find a select menu of ciabatta sandwiches, including some perennial favourites: goats’ cheese, fresh pesto, roasted aubergine& beef tomatoes, as well as a choice of bagels, delicious home-made cakes and other sweet treats, freshly baked french pastries, muffins and donuts. The Missing Bean also operates a pop-up coffee bar. Ideal for a ball, exhibition or conference, the bespoke bar can travel easily, bringing freshly roasted coffee from the cafe to the concourse.

Great coffee, good food, nice location. My only complaint is how popular it is for its size - gets a bit loud!
